The information Development Reports handles depends on how you use the site.

Business and provider information

Development Reports publishes directory information about businesses providing specialist development-report and consulting services.

This information may be collected from publicly available business sources such as:

• Business websites.
• Professional directories.
• Industry or association information.
• Public registers where relevant.
• Other publicly accessible sources.

Business information is not always personal information. However, provider information may include personal information where, for example, a business operates under an individual's name or publicly identifies an individual professional.

We only aim to publish information relevant to the business and its professional services.

Profile claims and corrections

If you submit a profile claim or correction request, we currently ask for information including:

• Business name.
• Profile URL, where provided.
• Your name.
• Work email address.
• Your role, where provided.
• Corrections, additional information or other information included in your message.
• Confirmation that you are authorised to submit the request on behalf of the business.

Website interaction information

Development Reports records information about how directory listings and categories are used. The current website records events such as:

• Provider profile views.
• Website link clicks.
• Phone-link clicks.
• Enquiry-link clicks.

Each recorded event stores the event type, the provider it relates to, the page it was triggered from and a randomly generated session identifier. That identifier is used to reduce duplicate counting of interactions during a browsing session. It is stored only in your browser's session storage and is removed when that browser tab or session ends. It is not linked by us to your name or contact details.

Technical information

Websites can also generate technical information when they are accessed. The hosting and database services used to operate Development Reports may generate standard technical request and security logs, which can include information such as the page requested, the referring source and general browser or device information.

Development Reports does not currently have a third-party analytics product installed on the website.

Depending on the information, we may collect it:

• Directly from you when you submit a profile claim or correction.
• When you contact us by email.
• From publicly available business sources when compiling directory listings.
• Automatically through website functionality used to measure directory interactions.
• Through technology providers that support operation and security of the website, where applicable.

We do not ask users browsing the public directory to create an account.

Development Reports is not currently designed to collect sensitive personal information through ordinary use of the directory.

Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive or highly personal information in free-text forms or emails.

We may use information to:

• Operate and maintain Development Reports.
• Create and maintain factual provider listings.
• Process profile claims and correction requests.
• Confirm or clarify information submitted about a listing.
• Communicate with someone about their request.
• Understand which report categories and provider listings are being used.
• Improve the usefulness and operation of the directory.
• Detect technical problems, misuse or security issues.
• Maintain records reasonably necessary for operation of the service.

Aggregated or non-identifying directory activity may also be used to understand provider-profile performance and could be used in future to provide listed businesses with activity information about their profiles. We do not currently provide identifiable visitor information to listed businesses.

Development Reports does not sell claim-form or contact information to third parties for unrelated marketing purposes.

Development Reports uses browser session storage for a temporary identifier used in interaction measurement.

Unlike persistent browser storage, session storage is generally limited to the current browser tab or session, and this identifier is removed when that browsing session ends. This identifier is not a cookie.

The website does not currently set its own cookies for tracking purposes, and no third-party analytics product is currently installed.

Development Reports does not currently use a third-party advertising or behavioural tracking system.

This policy will be updated if the tracking technology used by the website changes.

Development Reports may use technology and service providers to operate the website and process information on our behalf.

Depending on the current infrastructure, these may include services used for:

• Website hosting.
• Database hosting.
• Website security.
• Email.
• Technical support.

The website is currently operated using a managed cloud hosting platform and a managed cloud database service, which store directory content, profile claim submissions and interaction records.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary:

• To process a request made by you.
• To protect the website or its users.
• Where required or authorised by law.
• In connection with professional advice concerning operation of the service.

We do not disclose personal information to unrelated businesses simply because they are listed in the directory.

Technology services used to operate a website can sometimes process or store information outside Australia.

Some technology providers used to operate Development Reports may process information in Australia or overseas. The location can depend on the provider and infrastructure used.

Provider profiles are public.

Information displayed on a provider profile may therefore be viewed by anyone and indexed by search engines.

We aim to publish professional and business information relevant to the directory rather than unnecessary personal information.

If you believe information about you or your business is inaccurate, inappropriate or outdated, you can request a correction through claim your profile or contact us.

Listing and removal requests are handled in accordance with our Listing Standards. We consider each request on its merits, and requests are not automatically granted.

You can contact Development Reports if you want to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Request access to personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
• Raise a concern about how your personal information has been handled.

We may need enough information to identify you and locate the relevant information before processing a request.

Requests concerning public provider information can also be submitted through claim your profile.

Development Reports takes reasonable steps appropriate to the service to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, operation of the directory, legitimate record keeping, dispute resolution or applicable legal requirements.

Retention periods can differ depending on the type of information.

Where information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, de-identified or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable requirements.

Development Reports contains links to provider websites and other third-party websites.

When you follow a link to another website, that website operates independently of Development Reports.

Its own privacy practices and policies apply to information it collects.

Development Reports is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites.

The current version will be published on this page and the “Last updated” date changed when material updates are made.
